I Will Build My Church

| Group Study |

Watch the short clips below, and answer the questions associated with each.  You can do this alone - but it's always more fun with a group of friends!

Be sure to read/study the scriptures in each section.  God's word is the standard by which we measure all our thoughts and ideas.

Most of us have been to a carnival, fair, or amusement park. There is something great about taking time out to simply be amused.  Laughing and having fun with friends or family.

What is your favorite thing to do in an amusement park?  A particular ride?  Food?  Concert?  Animals at a fair?

The church truly is not a building, or an activity or the pastors.  The church is the people (us).  It seems natural that we meet together.

Have you ever thought about why we meet together?  What is the purpose?  Are we fulfilling the purpose?

scripture: Acts 2:42-47, Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 14:26

3 | church for you?

When our perspectives are askew, it is so easy to get offended.  We get hurt by the smallest inconvenience or perceived injustice.

What can we do to combat our easily offended natures?

scripture: Ecclesiastes 7:21-22, Luke 17:3-4

4 | future of the church

As the church, we have not had a perfect track record. We've sometimes failed at the small and large commands that Christ gave us.  We have to own that.

We must also look to the future and say: We weren't perfect.  But we are going to do our best moving forward.  We will not allow past mistakes to paralyze us into inaction or indifference.

What are some big (or small) things you think the church can do in the future?  In Klamath Falls or in the World.
