God Devises Ways

| Group Study |

Watch the short clips below, and answer the questions associated with each.  You can do this alone - but it's always more fun with a group of friends!

Be sure to read/study the scriptures in each section.  God's word is the standard by which we measure all our thoughts and ideas.

1 | duct tape

Everybody loves duct tape.  It's almost as American as apple pie and baseball games.  It's been used to make prom dresses, hold bumpers on cars or even fix a shoe in a pinch.

What is the most useful thing you've ever done with duct tape?  Is it duct tape or duck tape?

2 | testimony

The story of how God intervened in your life is so important.  Sometimes it's as simple as: God met me when I was in a dark place.  Sometimes God uses a complex set of events that lead you to him.

Can you share your testimony?  In 90 seconds or less.

scripture: Luke 8:39, 2 Timothy 1:8

3 | sacrifice

God goes to some extreme lengths to bring us close to him. He set up an entire animal sacrificing "system."  He sets plans into motion years, maybe even centuries before the result comes about.  He will do anything to walk in fellowship with us.

Why do you suppose that is?  Why is that so important to him?

scripture: Romans 5:7-8, Romans 8:38-39, 1 John 4:8

4 | living water

We talk a lot about giving "everything" to Jesus.  All our burdens, fears, actions, doubts, strengths, weaknesses, gifts....  That's a lot of things to give!

What does this look like in reality?  How do we actually give everything to Jesus?  How do we know when we've done it?

scripture: Philippians 4:6-7, Luke 10:27
