5% part 2 | Group Study

Watch the short clips below, and answer the questions associated with each.  You can do this alone - but it's always more fun with a group of friends!

Be sure to read/study the scriptures in each section.  God's word is the standard by which we measure all our thoughts and ideas.

1 | first wedding

With so much pressure to have the perfect wedding day, sometimes nerves, expectations, and ceremony make a perfect combination for humorous outcomes.

Share a story about a funny wedding moment (yours or one you attended).

2 | Soul mates

Did Pastor Jim burst your bubble?  The idea that there is one perfect spouse made for each of us is pretty popular in our culture.  Is there a biblical basis for this idea?

Is there one and only one out there for each person?  Or is it more a matter of choosing someone compatible and making a marriage work?

scripture: Mark 10:7-9, Ephesians 5:21-28

3 | firm in jesus

Identity is so important to us.  Knowing the substance of our relationship with Jesus is the key to having good relationships with everyone else.  When our relationship with Jesus is in question - it's easier to start questioning the substance of every other relationships.

So - what is the substance of your relationship with Jesus?  Finish these sentences: "Jesus is my ________."  "I am Jesus' __________."

scripture: John 15:5, John 14:6, Revelation 3:20

4 | potter and clay

The two greatest commands are to Love God and Love Others.  As you think about your relationships with God and with those around you - are there things that still need to be shaped?  Are you OK with God smoothing out some edges, buffing out scratches, or even starting all over so that you can accomplish these two commands better?

Think about a few of your imperfect relationships.  What can you do to make them better?  How can you change or be recast so that you can love better?

scripture: Jeremiah 18:1-6, Mark 12:28-31Luke 6:27-28, 1 Peter 4:8-10
